Residential garbage service will be provided on Jan 1, 2020, with an automated collection truck one time per week. Garbage must be in an approved container that’s compatible with the automated system.
Carts can be purchased from Tusculum town hall for $75. The carts are 95 gallons, which should easily hold your weekly garbage. Extra carts can be purchased. All carts are guaranteed for 10 years.
ONLY household garbage in plastic bags is to be placed in the carts.
Do not place any of the following in the carts:
- DIRT
- FLAMMABLE MATERIALS, SUCH AS GAS, OIL, PAINT, HOT ASHES OR COALS
- SOD, ROCK, GRASS CLIPPING, LEAVES, CONCRETE
- DEMOLITION OR REMODELING CARPET AND PADDING.
If you are unsure of any item, please call town hall (423) 638-6211. Plastic bags and unapproved containers will not be serviced. The carts should be placed at the end of the street and have a clearance of at least five feet.
Garbage is collected Wednesday and Thursday, beginning at 7:30 a.m. To ensure that your garbage is collected on its designated day, please have your cart out before 7:30 a.m.
